Frequently Asked Questions
Taken From EV Surveys

  1. Question: On the inside of the tank the Envirovault generally has a flat topped roof. If the roof could be built sloped toward the inside of the tank then debris such as sand would not accumulate on the top creating a heavy weight as well as a spot for corrosion to start. Desanding operations never gets this section of the tank clean.

Answer: This client suggested a sloped roof to help shed sand, preventing sand build up, inability for desand crew to access, and potential corrosion point. Original drawings showed a slightly sloped roof for exactly those concerns, however it was later determined that a slope of 36 degrees was required to shed sand. The added cost of material and labor to install such a vault would increase cost significantly, as well as occupy more of the tanks capacity. The sand will only build to a certain point (to 36 degrees +-) then shed off itself. Vault’s have a ˝” plate top which gives plenty of strength and corrosion allowance. One thing that could be added is a 360 degree desand nozzle out the roof, at customer request.

  2. Question: Increase the size somewhat, very tight working area in the older vaults. Been away from the product for 2 years now but very encouraged with the product in the past.
    (Taken from Completed Survey B)

Answer: Anadarko's concern about size: This is the second time we received the increased size comment in a questionnaire. The nice part is that within ˝ hour of receiving the questionnaire back, I was able to phone and advise the customer that we had a larger unit engineered and available (6’ wide x 5’ high vs the 5’x5’ he was using) and that is what Devon in Iron River now uses.
